Las Alpujarras – Granada
La Taha
One of four tours in Spain. On the southern flanks of the Sierra Nevada, Granada, this is a twin-centred walking tour based in the villages of Bubion and Trevelez. We walk through a dramatic landscape of high mountains, small traditional villages and fertile valleys.
The villages, with their white washed houses and flat roofs, sill evoke their Moorish origins. The terraced fields and authentic irrigation channels survive, remnants of a by gone era .
Trevelez is the highest village in the country. It lies on the lower slopes of Mulhacen, mainland Spain’s highest peak. Splitting our stay between here and Bubion gives good access for walks both in the lower valleys and in the high mountains.
Picos de Europa – Asturias

Some of the finest walking in Spain, through some of its most spectacular mountains. Our tours are based in Arenas de Cabrales and the small mountain village of Sotres. The walks are truly dramatic with spectacular viewpoints towards the high mountains and off to the coast.
The national park packs several climatic and habitat zones into a small area, from valley floor through to alpine. This is one factor that makes the Picos de Europa so varied and so dramatic.
We walk through a working landscape, along network of pathways connecting pastures and farmsteads. It is also an important wildlife area, home to wolves and Cantabrian brown bears.
Sierra de Grazalema

This tour straddles the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga. We explore the Grazalema natural park and the rolling hills and mountains west of Ronda.
The Sierra de Grazalema, given its particular microclimate, is a relative oasis of green, adorned by insanely picturesque white-washed villages, no more so than those of Grazalema or Montejaque, where our tour is based.
This is a landscape of jagged peaks, of forests of cork oak, and of brilliant and contrasting colours and earth tones. Explore the very heart of rural Andalucia
Mountains of Alicante

The Alicante region of Spain is where the mountains meet the sea. Sometimes referred to incorrectly as the Costa Blanca mountains, this wonderful mountain region remains largely undiscovered by walkers and hikers.
However, the mountains of Alicante are some of the most spectacular in the country. There are numerous trails, dating from the Islamic occupation of Southern Spain, with hilltop Moorish castles and prehistoric cave paintings.
On this one week tour we will stay in the Serrella valley, a 40 minute drive inland from Denia, but another world in terms of landscape and atmosphere.

The Lattari mountains of Amalfi
Located on the Sorrento Peninsula, south of Naples, southern Italy. Our tours are based in the mountain village of Bomerano, 20 minutes drive inland and up from Amalfi. Our intention is to explore the dramatic mountainous interior and avoid the thousands of steps, the main feature of so many other walking tours in the area. The scenery is truly breath taking with spectacular viewpoints overlooking the Amalfi coast to one side, and the Bay of Naples to the other, with the ever-present backdrop of the island of Capri.
Staying in the family run Due Torri hotel, (used as a base by various walking tour outfits), we will not only enjoy supreme hospitality but excellent local cuisine. It is the ideal location to access the walks in the high mountains with a range of walks direct from the hotel.

Exploring the Iveragh peninsula – Co Kerry
This one week walking tour explores the Iveragh peninsula, undoubted home to the finest (and the highest) mountains in Ireland. We are based in Glenbeigh, on the world famous Ring Of Kerry. Glenbeigh is a large village ideally located on the north coast of this narrow peninsula which has a great selection of hill/mountain walking to suit all levels, centred on the Magillycuddy Reeks.
Apart from the Reeks, our walks will cover a large area of the Iveragh peninsula, including the world famous Lakes of Killarney and short sections of the Kerry way. There is a free day with the option of visiting – and walking – in the Dingle peninsula.
