How our walking holidays are graded
Guests on any of our walking holidays do need to be healthy and are likely to be regular walkers, or be fit from other activities. We avoid 'route marches' and there is always time to enjoy the scenery, flora and fauna.
NB Daily walking distances can vary between 8 and 18 kms depending on terrain and temperatures - information specific to each destination/departure on request or on making an enquiry. →
Grade 2/Easy or easy to moderate: Walking mainly on paths. Modest gradients with ascents up to a maximum of 500m in a day. Up to 5 hours walking, excluding breaks.Grade 3/Moderate: Generally longer walks than grade 2 with more consistent ascent, up to 1000m per day and up to 6 hours walking. Be prepared for some steep ascents and descents. Walking both on and off path. Walking boots are essential on all grades of holidays because of the rough stony nature of some of the paths.
